Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that helps bring relief and healing to muscle and connective tissue that are sore from injury or excessive repetitive use. All muscles are surrounded by a protective covering of connective tissue called fascia. When injury or excessive repetitive use occur the fascia becomes shorter and thicker forming adhesions which restrict muscle movement and this in turn can pull on underlying bone and ligaments causing misalignment and pain. Generally Deep Tissue Massage is integrated with other massage techniques to relax the client's muscles and thus allow the practitioner to work at a deeper level to release the fascial adhesions and restore the injured muscle and bring it back to full range of motion.
